Make students, professionals from NE secure: Pune police

Following instructions from the Maharashtra DGP, Pune police commissioner Gulabrao Pol has issued specific guidelines to all zonal deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), the DCPs of special branch and cyber cell and all police stations under the jurisdiction of the city police, to take up measures to generate a sense of safety and security among students and working professionals hailing from Northeast.
According to a report by The Indian Express, all police stations have been asked to prepare a list of people from the Northeast living in their jurisdiction. Police stations have been asked to increase patrolling in the areas where they live and senior police inspectors and police inspector (crime) have been asked to conduct monthly meetings with them to understand their problems.
