Kasom to Senapati
(Musing Dr. Kishan)
Rojio Usham *
What is certain, I can't deny;
What I can't reject, it counts;
Negate everything of that part of me,
Lives on vague "nostalgias"?
I know that I do not know.
That desire for unity;
That need for clarity and consistency;
Sprinkle your humanity in Kasom;
Why the cold-blooded end in Senapati?
I know that I do not know.
You taught us "elegy";
I won't carve one for you.
For it was not the "epilogue".
Where dwell our howling appetites?
I know that I do not know.
Refute everything in this world
That offends or enraptures me.
This chaos, that sovereign chance,
That divine springs from anarchy?
I know that I do not know.
If you were a flower among trees,
A dog among animals,
That life would not end in brutality;
Rather the tragedy would not rise?
I know that I do not know.
Your indiscernible voices
Remain frozen in this posture.
The essential doesn't change,
Change changes nothing, waiting for what?
I know that I do not know.
Once again hear a terrible cry,
Cry to emerge on the stage.
A mixture of the comic and the pathetic;
What a drama of inaction?
I know that I do not know.
You are making me nervous.
The physical world of water,
Earth, air and fire,
Why is indifferent to us?
I know that I do not know.
Together we decide to move,
But remain frozen in our situation;
You underscore the disjunction,
Wonders if better off alone?
I know that I do not know.
Rustling and murmuring voices,
Voices to explore mysteries
Self to the limits of anguish and suffering;
Agreed that if they thought less?
I know that I do not know.
Uncertainty in the colour of unsureness,
Vagueness of our existence……?
But the impression you left
Reinforce us to be human.
I know that I must know.
