Jairam Ramesh advocates special approach to NE

Union rural development minister JairamRamesh on Wednesday advocated for a special approach by the Centre towards the northeastern states, while preparing different policies.
"Northeast cannot be considered on a par with other states of the country because of its geographical factors. We need a different outlook for the region, especially in terms of rural connectivity and other development programmes," the Union minister said, addressing the 27th Statehood Day celebrations here at Indira Gandhi Park.
