Indigenous people's meet
The Telegraph | Guwahati, Oct. 16:
Leaders of around 350 indigenous communities will meet at the first Indigenous Peoples' Parliament to be held next month in Imphal in Manipur to resolve their common problems. The three-day parliament, starting November 13, is also an effort to bring all the indigenous communities of Northeast to a common platform.
The decision to hold the parliament was taken in a discussion between Assam Sanmilita Mahasangha and the representatives of indigenous communities of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
