India, Myanmar to boost connectivity, trade

India and Myanmar have agreed to work together to remove the bottlenecks hampering bilateral trade and investment, such as lack of good connectivity and banking arrangements both for regular and border trade.
In this context, India offered to support Myanmar in developing infrastructure at the border trade points, upgrading trade training institutes in Yangon and also in providing training to Myanmar officials on WTO and international trade-related issues, besides supporting subsidised direct shipping links between India and Myanmar to promote bilateral trade.
