Indefinite protest against 3 Mnp bills continue

Ningol Chakkouba, the festival during which sisters and daughters are invited for special feasts by their fathers and brothers, was celebrated in Manipur today. The indefinite sit-in protest against three controversial bills passed by the Manipur Assembly entered its ninth day at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The protest, under the aegis of Manipur Tribal’s Forum Delhi (MTFD), began on November 4.
Leaders from Northeast region and Delhi took part on Friday. Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio, president Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Weapon Zimik; CPI(M) Central Committee Member, Vijoo Khrishnan and various well known senior leaders and elders from Delhi attended the rally. In a press note issued by MTFD spokesperson Lakpachui Siro said MTFD along with various leaders of various students’ unions including NSUD have decided to take the lead. It would be a shared responsibility on rotational basis among various participating students’ unions, he said.
