Incomplete peace talks to impact polls : Naga Hoho
Times of India | Naresh Mitra | TNN | Jan 30, 2013, 10.14 AM IST
Camp Hebron, headquarters of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim, about 36 km from here, is out of bounds for any outsiders. The leaders have stopped giving interviews to the media and are not entertaining phone calls either. Till the talks are on between the Centre and the NSCN (IM), they will remain incommunicado.
But the influential Naga Hoho, the apex tribal body of the Nagas, which wanted to postpone the elections, has been harping on how the inconclusive talks would affect the forthcoming elections. The Naga Hoho has a significant command over the Nagas. The NSCN (IM) always consults it regarding negotiations with the Centre. It is a platform of Hohos from each Naga tribe where decisions are taken collectively.
