Hoho move miffs Khaplang
The Telegraph | Kohima, July 4:
The Tuluni festival has now been caught between the NSCN’s Khaplang and Khole-Kitovi factions. The Khaplang faction has asked the Sumi Hoho to clarify its decision to invite Kitovi Zhimomi to the Tuluni celebrations to be held at Zunheboto on Friday.
The group reminded the Hoho that Kitovi was no longer the general secretary of the NSCN (K) under Khaplang’s leadership and the changed scenario compelled it to question the Hoho as to whether Kitovi had been invited in his personal capacity as a Sumi citizen or in his previous position as the general secretary of the NSCN (K).
Security agencies here said there should not be any problem as Swu gets Z-Plus security and that the state government would have to provide him foolproof security if he wanted to go to Zunheboto, his home district. Both Swu and Kitovi are from Zunheboto.
Sumi Hoho leaders, however, were not sure whether the Centre would allow Swu to travel to Zunheboto. “I hope the government of India would not stop Swu from coming,” one of them said.
