Govt to set up 2 battalions for surrendered militants in NE
Nagaland Post | Agencies | Imphal, Feb 14 ()
Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said his ministry will set up two new battalions for surrendered militants of Manipur and Assam. He said the exercise would lure militants to surrender and join the mainstream.
Rajnath and his deputy (MoS) Kiren Rijiju arrived here in the afternoon for a two-day visit to study the security scenario of the insurgency-hit state. The battalions will be raised soon after the ground work is completed, the Union minister told reporters at the border town of Moreh.
