Gogoi for 'coalition' to rid NE of tobacco menace

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi has strongly supported the formation of a ‘Coalition for Tobacco Free Northeast’ and said all states in the region will have to work together to achieve the goal of reducing tobacco abuse and its impact on families.
During the course of the discussions, the chief minister gave his commitment to attending the launch of the Campaign for Tobacco Free North East and to be the Chief Ambassador of the initiative. The Campaign for Tobacco Free Northeast will be launched through a mega event on February 27-28 which will include a ‘I Said No To Tobacco’. Walk where over 10,000 young people and school children are expected to take a ‘No Tobacco Use’ pledge to be administered by the chief minister.
