Global warming cause of influx in NE

A two-day national seminar on the impact of ethnic violence on demographics concluded in the city on Monday. The highlight of the event was that global warming was resulting in mass migration to the northeast, an issue which gets lost political clamour and nationalistic sentiments.
Bangladesh is surrounded by the delta of three rivers making it vulnerable to flooding besides cyclones and storms. As half its total landmass is less than two metres above the sea level, millions of people face displacement. Climate change has also contributed to the increase of erratic seasonal patterns," said Sandhya Goswami, a political science professor, who mentioned the point at the seminar.
