Following The Shadow
Czadanda Saint *
Sometimes, when I feel myself so alone
As if torn apart from everything I own
And as if the whole world has turn a hazy brown
And my life seem more like a general's pawn
It's when I seek the counsel of the blessed
And laid all my miseries to rest
The surrounding cloud of gloom
Gave way to a world in full bloom
Nothing, no longer seems improbable
Everything seems to be achievable
The world of freedom is my destination
Every time, I succumbed to the temptation
The ride is smooth, amongst the clouds
Blissfulness is all it brings about
Seeking Morpheus in his own realm
Who can summon to me all my dreams
I played with my own imagination
And danced through that door of perception
I run, I walk, I jump, I fly
There's nothing I can't do on a high
Misery and joy seemed to be entwined together
Like birds of a same feather
The kingdom of mirth lay on the horizon
Freed from the vile human thoughts and reason
I climbed, higher and higher, on the wings of the child
The cherub, with the deep blue eyes of the Nile
I see hope in his eyes, a path to a better future
A path of roses, that leads to a hidden treasure
He is my heavenly guide, who leads me through the archway
Like the old hermit, who shows you the stairway
And at the threshold, I got a glimpse of the paradise
And a whiff of the joy, as boundless as the skies
With the mystic of the blue river washing upon me
I lose my self for a tryst with the trinity
But with my self, also went my sight
And all went black under the shimmering lights
I realised, it was the end of my fantasy
I have reached the wall, which showed me the reality
With nowhere to go and trapped by the black widow
I wound up my illusion of following the shadow
And so ends my quest for the mystic light
A journey that led me only to the end of my life.
