FIR case registered on custodial death of man

Police investigating into the death of a man in their custody suggested that the person died of “shock and hemorrhage resulting from blunt force injuries” and converted the UD (unnatural death) case registered at the time of death of the person in a regular FIR case for further investigation, an official source said Sunday.
One Thokchom Ranjit (46) son of Th Chinglen Singh of Itam Nungoi village in Imphal east who was picked by a team of police commandos on charges of being an active member of the proscribed PREPAK from his home on May 8 last died at the casualty ward of the JNIMS hospital.
