Exports double to Rs 1600 crores

In the last three years, Panmei said exports have doubled from Rs 800 crore to Rs 1,600 crore and that too, in spite of the several bottlenecks in transportation and slow industrial growth. “As the exports have doubled, we foresee huge prospects in trade.” He said out of 30 land customs stations in the Northeast, at least 10 are non-functional
This was revealed at the Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee meeting of the commissionerate of customs (preventive), northeastern region, here today. The meeting was chaired by the commissioner of customs, Gaigongdin Panmei, where several agendas were discussed to facilitate trade for the region.
