Experts emphasise role of information communication technology and knowledge for development
The Telegraph | Guwahati, Sep 3:
Any talk of inclusive growth in the Northeast must take into consideration the culture and ethos of the region, director of IIM Shillong Ashoke Dutta said today.
Speaking at a panel discussion on Inclusive Growth: Empowering Northeast with ICT on the second day of NICT 2011, Dutta said there were a lot of problems in the Northeast when it came to starting management institutes and most were because of “perceptions”.
He said IIM Shillong has set up Centre for Development of North Eastern Region, which is involved in organising both short-term and long-term programmes relevant to the indigenous communities of the region, which is also a way of working on inclusive growth.
