ECI mulls opting Manipur model

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is considering using of face recognition software similar to Google Picasa to detect duplicity of voters in electoral roll after Manipur election department recently used the free software from the internet giant search engine developer Google to detect thousands of duplicate voters.
The number of duplicate voters detected by Google Picasa has reached over 18000-mark in Manipur. Office of the Manipur CEO is confident that by the time Manipur goes to poll for the Lok Sabha in 2014, there will not be any single duplicate voter in the electoral rolls.
