Leishungbam Subash Singh of Manipur plays several musical instruments and sings like a professional. But his goal lies elsewhere. Though visually-challenged, he dreams of being successful in UPSC’s civil services examination.
Subash, who was today awarded for outstanding performance in this year’s matriculation examination, told The Telegraph, “I don’t want to be a professional singer or a musician. I am told that visually challenged persons like me could appear in civil service examinations and I wish to go for it.”
Subash passed in second division, but emerged first among around 30 visually challenged persons who appeared in this year’s matriculation examination.
