Cong targets 25 NE Lok Sabha seats
Assam Tribune | New Delhi, July 19
With the AICC targeting to capture the maximum of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in North East, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has convened a meeting of the Chief Ministers and PCC presidents of the region on July 27.
Sources added that the Congress Chief Ministers would be impressed to try and wrest maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in the North East. Considered a strong bastion of the ruling party, the Congress currently has 13 of the 25 seats. With Assam having a maximum number of 14 seats, the pressure obviously would be on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to retain at least all the 14 Lok Sabha seats.
