FEGOCTA Condemns the Neglect of Collegiate Education
Imphal, 20th July, 2017
Federation of Government College Teachers’ Associations, Manipur (FEGOCTA) will take up democratic course of action against the failure to grant complete salary to the government college teachers. It was decided in its Executive Meeting held on 16th July, 2017.
The government college teachers have been denied justice and dignity for the last 6 years and 7 months by non-inclusion of the allowances of SCA and TA.
It violates principles of equality enshrined in the Constitution of India and UGC Regulations. FEGOCTA strongly condemns the Higher Education Department’s irresponsible replies on this matter on People’s Day and inaction to its representations to improve collegiate education in the state.
It sincerely appeals to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Education Minister to resolve the issue of denial of complete salary to the government college teachers at the earliest.
There is lot of hope from the New Government by the college teaching community that long pending issues of the teachers will be resolved and effective measures to improve collegiate education would be taken up.
FEGOCTA has already submitted its suggestions to the Higher Education Department for timely and complete implementation of UGC Regulations and other national policies in the state.
