Cell phones of Manipur teenagers scanned for sex crimes
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, July 9:
Police teams out on the roads for the past four days, checking cell phones for sexual content — film clippings or pictures — in the twin districts of Imphal West and Imphal East. The avowed objective of the exercise was to reduce sex crimes, which have shown a rising trend in the past few years.
The police took owners of cell phones containing such clippings and pictures to the police stations and handed them over to their parents after counselling. The owners were asked to delete the contents in front of their parents and the policemen present.
