Case filed against ex-official
The Telegraph | Imphal, March 27:
Manipur police registered a case against former project director of Manipur AIDS Control Society, Khomdon Lisam, following a complaint lodged by NCP MLA L. Ibomcha Singh, who charged that the former "hurt his dignity".
Lisam's article, "How can we salvage the Manipur state legislative Assembly", published in some local dailies on different dates recently made scathing attacks on the Manipur Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers' Bill, which was passed by the state Assembly on March 16.
Ibomcha Singh was "offended" by the article, which commented that chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh made the mistake of passing the bill because of "too much reliance" on Ibomcha Singh (the MLA).
