Call to preserve old Manipur Assembly building
Assam Tribune | Imphal, June 6:
Former Opposition leader of Manipur People's Party (MPP) O Joy has urged the State Government to preserve the old Assembly building in the heart of Imphal city and declare it as a 'political museum' instead of using it for other purposes.
It may be noted that the State Government is considering to use the old Assembly building for functioning of the Imphal Municipal Council. "Being the monument of the highest democratic tradition of the State, preservation of the old building of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is a must in public interest," he added.
