CDSU, ATSUM not recognized, allege students' bodies
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Jan 18 (NPN) :
Clearing the misconceptions that has arisen out of the proposed general strike on January 18 by the ATSUM and "supposedly" backed by CDSU, the five student bodies in Churachandpur has informed that CDSU "has ceased to exist as an apex student union of the district". In a press statement, Thadou-Kuki Students Union, Hmar Students' Association, Mizo Zirlai Pawl (Manipur), Zillai and Komrem Students' Union claimed that CDSU ceased to exist after the majority (five out of the nine) parent bodies unanimously resolved to dissolve the union in the larger interest of the students community and the general public.
The bodies also claimed that the so called ATSUM has also been formed by few vested interest persons without following the proper convention and process of the ATSUM. With regard to this, the so called ATSUM cannot claim itself to be an apex tribal student body of the state, the joint press release added.
