Nagaland Post | Agencies | New Delhi, Jul 9 ()
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is also the BJP’s poll campaign committee chief for the 2014 elections, has reportedly set a target of winning at least 15 Lok Sabha seats from the northeastern parts of the country. According to a report, Modi laid down the target at the party’s Parliamentary Board meeting held here on Monday.
The entire north-eastern region of India sends 25 members to the Lok Sabha and out of them, 14 are from Assam (Arunachal-2, Meghalaya-2, Manipur-2, Tripura-2, Mizoram-1, Nagaland-1, Sikkim-1). According to Modi, the BJP and the NDA must win 15-20 seats in the northeast if it aims to come back to power at the Centre.
