TODAY -
Belated Welcome
Jitendra Kumar Singh*
Frozen tears in my eyes
Waitin’ for your touch
To melt to move
Like a beam of light
That conquers
Fear, Ignorance, Darkness.
Ah! How long…?
Sorrow's been waitin'
Long- Joy must bloom.
Might still lingers on though
Hatred's fed-up with hatred
Life with lives cold and raw
Lyin' face down
Up to the brim
Ah! How many, for how long??
Come forward unafraid unarmed
Love m'st get ahead now
Peace m'st prosper finally
Come to add music
To my verse, I fear
Lest my heart can't dance
Years in subju'tion, my life
Come with your wonted glory
Say yes to my belated welcome
Freedom is all I want!
