Awarded for C S Voluntary Sector program

Ms Shivani Wangkheirakpam, a human rights defender, working with Indigenous Perspectives and currently assisting felllow Human rights Defenders in the conflict ridden Kokhrajhar of Assam has been awarded for C S Voluntary Sector program (2016-17) on the basis of our meeting on 21st December, 2016 at NFI office and ISI, Lodi Road New Delhi.
The National Foundation for India is an autonomous, professionally managed fund raising and grant-making organization promoting civil society action and public deliberation for social change.
the main objectives for the awardee is to
o To provide opportunities to upgrade their skills, deepen their leadership qualities and enhance motivation and understanding on various issues.
o To create a network of individual and institutions in order to increase the voluntary sector’s understanding on the contemporary issues.
o To encourage community level leaders who would be able to articulate the need of the local citizenry and mobilize them to access their rights and entitlements.
the award and citation will be conferred on a special date on 2nd March 2017
