Assam Rifles' commandos gear up for anti-insurgency ops

Assam Rifles has been training its commandos in Tripura for counter insurgency operations in the North East. The commandos’ teams known as ‘fast and intense strike teams’ or ‘fist’ will have the capability of operating in difficult terrains. These are the elite commandos of Assam Rifles who are undergoing intense training at Assam Rifles School in Teliamura.
10 commando teams of 12 members each, known as FIST, or ‘Fast and Intense Strike Teams’ will be capable of operating for 48-72 hours continuously. Be it forests or mountains- they have been imparted special skills for carrying out swift and surgical operations against insurgents.
