Artists depict violence against women

The anguish of women nationwide over the rape and murder of a “brave heart” in Delhi found an artistic expression here in Manipur where six young artists – three from West Bengal and three from Manipur – held a four-day-long art exhibition.
Chitaranjan Moirangthem’s work “Trauma”¯, which focused the crime and discrimination on the women, was the highlight of the exhibition held at Manipur Press Club. The installation of a lifesize statute of a woman in a web of strings depicts the condition under which women in Manipur and elsewhere live.
