Anti-bill panel agrees to talks
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, March 31:
A joint action committee formed by citizen organisations in Churachandpur district against three bills passed by the Assembly has responded positively to an invitation from chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh to talk about the bodies of nine protesters.
"The committee has accepted an invitation by the chief minister to talk about the issue but the date has not been fixed for the meeting. It will take place soon," an official source said. If the BJP-led government makes a breakthrough in the Churachandpur impasse, it would be its second achievement after coming to power on March 15, the first being lifting of blockade.
