TODAY -
An N.E. friendly Delhi Police
Nagaland Post | New Delhi, Dec 11
As part of the government of India’s effort to sensitise Delhi Police so as to make the force better equipped to deal with crimes against people from north east states, a decision was taken to recruit 610 people from the north east, keeping in mind the low representation of people from the Northeast in the force.
Joint Commissioner (Training) of Delhi Police Robin Hibu, currently the nodal officer for North- East community, Special Unit for NE Region and Special Unit for women and children, in the Capital and the first IPS officer from Arunachal Pradesh, has been keenly overseeing the recruitment process.
While results of recruitment tests for candidates from Mizoram, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh were declared, the process was on to complete the results for candidates from Nagaland,Assam, Tripura, Sikkim and Manipur. In an exclusive interview to Nagaland Post here today, Hibu said that though there were around seven lakh north east people living in Delhi, there were hardly fifty of them in the Delhi Police.
