AMUCO denies Ravi's claim
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, Aug. 14:
The All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (Amuco) today denied Centre's interlocutor R.N. Ravi's claim that he had met the organisation on peace talks with the NSCN (Isak-Muivah). The Telegraph today carried a report that quoted Ravi saying he had met Manipur chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh almost 12 times, the last being in July, as well as students in Manipur and civil society groups like Amuco.
"We are surprised by Ravi's statement. We have never met Ravi," Amuco vice-president Ph. Devan said. Amuco, a citizen's organisation campaigning for safeguarding Manipur's territorial integrity and the unity of the people in the state, said it had taken Ravi's statement "very seriously".
