48 cases filed against Manipur blockaders

Manipur police have so far taken up 48 FIR cases against violent acts related with the economic blockade called by Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) and nine cases related with the counter-blockade being imposed by United Naga Council (UNC) against the demand of the SHDDC, revealed a Manipur government report on Sunday.
The report was being prepared by the state home department to brief union home minister P Chidambaram who is scheduled to arrive in Imphal on November 2 next.
According to an official source, Manipur government is preparing a report on the violent activities of the agitating SHDDC and UNC which will be tabled in a high level meeting to review law and order situation in the wake of prolonged imposition of economic blockades.
