24-hr power hope in Imphal

P ower cuts might soon be a thing of the past in Imphal. The Manipur State Power Distribution Company has set a target of providing 24-hour power supply in the area from early next year. The managing director of the company, R. Sudhan, said the company had set a target of providing 24- hour power supply everyday by January next year.
“We are working very hard on this. If the consumers cooperate with us, we will be able to achieve the target. We appeal to the consumers to extend support to our endeavour,” Sudhan said. The power situation here had considerably improved after the state electricity department had been converted to a company some years ago and the subsequent introduction of pre-paid meter system subsequently.
