Other than glory in sports, literature and films, insurgency-hit Manipur witnessed rising crime against women, deterioration in law and order and ethnic tension over territory in 2012.
Though chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh vowed to improve water supply, road communication and power after he came to power in March for the third time in a row, no significant changes were seen in these sectors.
