Imphal, February 26: The Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills has strongly condemned the killing of students by armed activists on February 22 afternoon at near Thangal Surung village under Saikul police station.

Informing that the victims - Paoginlal Hangshing s/o Dempu Hangshing of Tingpibung, Seigoumang Lhouvum s/o Hemkhopao of Tingpibung and Jangminlal Hangshing s/o Letsat Hangshing students of EN Roger Academy (Zomi Villa) and Sanakeithel Model High School, a KSO (SH) release said the trio went to visit relatives at Tuichamphai village on the Ekou-Sapar-meina road.

due to absence of regular passenger service (vehicles) on the route, the students had boarded the jeep driven by the PRO-KRA Haopao Chongloi and got killed along with the elderly KRA linkman.

Decrying the killing of the students as violation of human rights and coming down heavily upon the Government machinery for failing to protect lives of innocent future generation, KSO also wondered what safety measures would the Government advocate to prevent such ghastly act of eliminating students in their prime.

On the otherhand, the KSO-SH also appealed to security forces as well as UGs to refrain from causing civilian casualty through their hasty action.
