Imphal, August 22: A Lance Naik of the 10 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry died on the spot as suspected militants ambushed a patrol party of the Infantry at New Khunkot village under Molcham police station in Chandel district.

The incident took place on August 20 at around 8.48 am, said a police report.

The deceased personnel has been identified as one Subhash Chander (32) s/o Sh Kora from Pagarwal district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Chander's body has been handed over to authorities concerned after the post mortem examination at RIMS morgue today.
