Imphal, May 17: A suspected UG cadre was shot dead by Imphal West commandos in an encounter that took place at Yurenjam Makha Leikai near power house under Patsoi police station at about 4.30 this afternoon.

Besides a .38 revolver and a live round, a scooter (MNS-1268) rode by the slain individual have been recovered by police.

Police have picked up the corpse and deposited at RIMS mortuary.
