Imphal, April 16: One person was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at near Hangoi Pat in Thoubal district late last night.

The spot where the individual, said to be a rickshaw driver, was slain is located about 10 kilometres north-east of Kakching police station.

identity of the deceased has been established as Md Mufe alias Zuddin (45) s/o (L) Md Badutomba of Sora Makha Leikai.

Mufe reportedly moved out of his house at around 7 pm yesterday and his lifeless body was discovered by some locals this morning.

The victim suffered two bullet wounds.

After post mortem at Lilong PHC the body has been handed over to family members today.
