Imphal, March 11: Two unidentified youths were found shot dead at Turel Mamei Khongban at Keinou Thongkha Makha Leikai under Bishnupur police station this morning.

The corpses of the youths who appeared to be about 21 years of age have been picked up by police and deposited at RIMS mortuary for identification.

Both the youths were shot on the heads which exited through.

They appeared to be Meitei and had slim bodies and pierced ear lobes.

Both of them are about 5 ft 5 inches in height.

It is believed that the two youths might have been brought there from some other place by the unidentified persons before shooting them dead there last night.

Police have registered a case in connection with the twin killings.

Meanwhile, following the discovery of the two corpses, a public meeting was held at Keinou Thongkha Makha Leikai today.

The meeting resolved to ban entry of non-locals and armed persons between 6 pm to 7 am in all the areas under Keinou Gram Panchayat.

Other resolutions adopted in the meeting included launching of a protest movement against the repeated act of killing people in Keinou area and to appeal to all communities of the State to stop internecine killings.
