Dimapur, April 18: After the Thursday violence, cadres of the NSCN/GPRN or NSCN-Unification in the wee hours today attacked the NSCN-IM cadres in Dimapur today but there has not been any casualty report so far.

Reports said that some cadres of NSCN-U carried out an attack on the NSCN-IM cadres at Nagaland Gate in Dimapur at around 1 am but the detail of the incident could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, tension continues to prevail in the Nagaland commercial hub fillowing the eruption of factional related violence on Thursday between the NSCN-Unification and the NSCN-IM which have resulted in the early closure of shops and other business establishments in Dimapur.

Meanwhile, the NSCN/GPRN or NSCN-Unification clarified that its outfit's name is "NSCN/GPRRN bereft of any initial and it is not a new faction but an amalgamation of all Naga freedom fighters as well as overground Naga people".

The "NSCN/GPRN" or NSCN-Unification today termed the NSCN-IM as "Hebron campers who have persisted illusive mispropaganda and false allegations upon the unification team with the intent to mislead the Nagas and at fracturing the ongoing all Naga people unification process and to obstruct exploration of a lasting solution to the protracted Indo-Naga-Burma/Myanmar political issue".

On the other hand, NSCN-IM source said today that the outfit is maintaining maximum restrain as the Government of India assured to take up strong action on the "NSCN/GPRN" or NSCN-Unification who has no ceasefire agreement with the Government of India but "move freely in the public areas with arms".

Meanwhile, in the backdrop of the Nagaland's Gaonburas and Dobashis (GBs-DBs) Sub-committee Joint Forum, Dimapur district condemning the killing of two NSCN-Unification group members by NSCN-IM at Eros lane in Dimapur and keeping silent on the killing of an NSCN-IM member at Khelmahal by the NSCN-Unification group on Thursday, the NSCN-IM said today that it is necessary for the GBs and DBs to know the root causes that caused chain reaction.

The NSCN-IM said that on 17 April 17, at 11 am the NSCN-Unification group attacked two NSCN-IM members at Wungram Colony injuring Lance Corporal Alung Zeliang and abducting Corporal Achumo Lotha.

And at around 1 pm the same group again attacked two NSCN-IM members at Khelmahal, seriously injuring Lt.Shondhar and who later died in a hospital, according to the NSCN-IM while adding, "In the related incident the killing at Eros Lane took place at 3 pm though it has nothing to do with offensive operation as the standing order of the NSCN authority is to exercise restraint.

What is happening in the name of unification process is regrettable in the true spirit of the NSCN's irrevocable proclamation on unity through reconciliation".

On the other hand, the "NSCN/GPRN or NSCN-Unification strongly condemned the Thursday violence saying that the NSCN-IM carried out unprovoked attacks at two different places on the members of the NSCN/GPRN (Unification) .
