Imphal, January 06: Around 60 NSCN (I-M) top cadres have left the Dimapur Airport for New Delhi as the two visiting supremos of the outfit have cancelled their much speculated trip to Nagaland, according to highly placed sources.

Sources said that the cadres, many of whom have not yet seen the outfit chairman Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary Th Muivah in persons, have left the Nagaland commercial town in three batches for New Delhi to meet and to be introduced to them.

Muivah and Swu have restricted their trip only to New Delhi due to 'certain reasons', sources said.

Sources further informed that some of the cadres of the outfit have been already in New Delhi for the past one month or so overseeing and rehearsing the security cover of the visiting leaders of the NSCN (I-M) to further the ongoing negotiation of resolving the vexed and prolonged Naga political problem.

Although the Government of India had assured safe passage and full proof security cover, the NSCN (I-M) cadres from Nagaland like to be doubly sure and add more teeth to the security arrangement of the two leaders.

Meanwhile, a source from Naga Hoho disclosed that till date no invitation has been extended to it or to any other Naga NGOs by the NSCN (I-M) to come to New Delhi.

It was much to the surprised of the Naga apex body, the source said, adding that at the same the Naga Hoho has also not made any initiative to go to New Delhi this time.

Naga Hoho post: Naga Hoho vice president G Gaingam is still holding the post in spite of having submitted resignation letter about of month back.

When contacted by this Network to confirm the news, Gaingam said that his resignation letter had not been accepted by the Hoho and at the same time the United Naga Council (UNC) had sent two separate letters, one to him and the other addressing to president of the Hoho M Vero requesting to withdraw the resignation letter at the earliest in the larger interest of the Naga society.
