A public discussion on making the NH-53 as lifeline of the people of the state will be held on June 6 at the hall of the Sagolband Yengkhom Leirak Development Club (SYLDC).
The public targets to find a consensus of the people of the state with regard to a decision taken by the United Clubs NH-53, an apex body of different clubs, civil organisations and meira paibis lup said the president of the SYLDC, Thongam Shyam talking to reporters today the office of the United Clubs NH-53 at Sagolband Khamnam Leirak.
A meeting of the apex body has taken decisions to develop the NH-53 as the lifeline of the state and to press the Central government for setting up of highway protection force for protecting the NH-53 and repair the road and bridges on the stretch of the highway.
The meeting also resolved to organise a mass rally on the stretch of the highway.
The date of rally will be decided later taking into account the weather condition in the state.
He also called for a concerted effort of the people of all section of the society.
