Imphal, June 24 (NNN): The Kuki National Front (KNF), T Samuel faction has questioned the NSCN(IM) version of Naga's unique history and countered which Naga history the NSCN-IM was talking about.

The Kuki outfit in a statement said that only those communities who fought against the colonial British had a unique history and added that since the Nagas did not fight the Britishers the claim of the NSCN-IM is nothing but a mockery.

In Manipur chapter, only the Meeteis and Kukis had fought against the British at the Khongjom War and Anglo Kuki War of 1917-1919, stated the KNF (T Samuel) statement.

It said even Chassad district had been changed into Ukhrul district, Laijang district into Tamenglong, Jampi district into Senapati district and Lonpi district into Chandel district because the Nagas are not the owner of the land historically and thus changed these districts names to suit their non-historical political movement.

The Kuki outfit also blamed the Government of India for not holding political dialogues with people who have a clear-cut unique history like the Kukis and the Meiteis.

Creation of a State should be based on past history and sacrifices that had been recorded in the annals of Indias Freedom Struggle during the reign of the British Raj, it stated.

Looking back to history, it proved that Manipur Nagas had/have no unique history to be based for political movement.
