Imphal, November 19: While clarifying that UNLF is not related with the November 16 bomb blast at Videocon House, Paona Bazar which claimed one life and injured four others in any manner, the outfit has strongly condemned the incident.

A statement issued by the proscribed outfit's Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba observed that the incident was aimed at tarnishing the image of the revolutionary movement.

In case any revolutionary group was involved in the bomb blast, it demands a detailed explanation otherwise it may be logically interpreted as an act unleashed by a gang with an ulterior motive to present revolutionary groups in the wrong light.

Alleging that the Government of India is undertaking several overt and covert activities to keep people away from the liberation movement, Yoiheiba cautioned all revolutionary groups against committing mistakes which may cause anguish to the people.

What is more unfortunate at such critical period of Manipur-India conflict is the growth of numerous armed gangs posing themselves as revolutionaries, Yoiheiba noted while observing that these armed gangs have been looting and creating a fear psychosis among the public by indulging in unwarranted firing and bomb attacks in civilian areas.

Frightened as they are of these armed gangs, people are unable to refuse their monetary demands which is only encouraging them in their anti-social activities, Yoiheiba said.

As such, all revolutionary groups need to maintain a healthy relationship with the people and should desist from any activity that may cause fear and anguish to the public, asserted the Publicity Officer.

He also appealed to the people not to level uncorroborated charges against genuine revolutionaries for the crimes and anti-social activities committed by these armed gangs who are earning easy money out of the ongoing liberation movement.

Calling upon all revolutionary groups to build up people's confidence with the good deeds of revolutionaries, Yoiheiba asserted that it's time for the genuine revolutionaries to reveal their true character and identity to the people.
