Imphal, December 18: Reacting to the statement made by DGP Joykumar today in which he claimed that no PLA activist was arrested on December 16, the proscribed RPF termed the DGP's statement a blatant lie.

A statement issued by the RPF's Assistant Secretary of Communication and Publicity Lily Leima giving details of the two PLA cadres arrested by security forces on December 16 identified the duo as L/Cpl Nganba alias Haorangbam Kalamu Meitei s/o Lokendro and Prabha of Salankonjin and L/Cpl Ibosana alias Elangbam Jayentakumar s/o Yaima and Sorojini of Hiyanglam Warakkhong Bazar.

The two were arrested by a team of Imphal East commandos led by OC Manihar and SI Khaba (IRB officer attached to Commando unit) from Khurai Puthiba.

Police commandos were also heard talking among themselves, "bring the two arrested yesterday.

Let's butcher them.

They have not been included in arrest list yet.

There would be no problem".

This was intercepted by PLA cadres from the wireless message of the police commandos during the shoot-out at Takhel yesterday, claimed the RPF.

Till date, the RPF never hesitated in confessing for any mistake or blunder it committed, Lily asserted while cautioning the people against some unethical security personnel who have been telling falsehoods and deceiving the public.

The outfit also appealed to the public to teach such liars a befitting lesson.

Further, the outfit conveyed condolence over the death of Singam Premanda (25) s/o Ibopishak of Keibi Awang Leikai who sustained injuries in the December 16 blast and succumbed at about 1.45 am today.

Sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved family, RPF also paid revolutionary salute to the victim.
