After minutely discussing the successful operation by the Army and police commandos the Cabinet today decided to give the cash incentives as encouragement and recognition of the swift operation carried out without any collateral damages.

Apart from the cash incentives to be given to the security personnel, the Cabinet also discussed the power situation in the State and to help improve the power situation to a certain extent, it was agreed that the State Government would work together with a private enterprise to take up a Thermal power project. The project may be taken up either in Assam or Orissa.

Towards this end, the State Government may submit an application to the Coal Ministry some time this month.

Since works in the IMC areas have to contend with the assets which cannot be removed , the meeting decided to find out where the assets are.
