KNA-KRA clash: Three killed, one injured

Imphal, June 10: Two KNA cadres and one KRA cadre have been reportedly killed during a shoot out between the armed cadres of the two outfits at Molkon village under Saikul Police Station yesterday.

One KRA cadre also reportedly sustained injuries in the clash which broke out at around 4.30 pm yesterday.

According to police source, shoot out took place when the well-equipped cadres of both the KNA and KRA outfits where patrolling in the area and came face to face.

In the ensuing fierce gun-battle, two KNA cadres and one KRA cadre were killed while another KRA cadre was wounded.

The police source further informed that in continued clash, the armed cadres of the two rival outfits also engaged in exchange of firing in the area early morning today.

As a result panic villagers of Molkon have fled to Saikul and other nearby villages.

However, police have not been able to go inside the area.

Although the extent of casualty in the today's clash could not be ascertained, it is likely both sides must have suffered, the police source said, adding that the identity of the cadres who were killed in yesterday's clash have not yet been established.
