Imphal, July 06: In case authority concerned fail to take appropriate action against Principal S Leinkim Hmar of Female Health Worker Training School, Churachandpur, the forthcoming monsoon session of the State Assembly session would be boycotted, said the Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) secretary.

Talking to media persons today, the secretary said the Lienkim's appointment violates relevant norms as he possessed fake certificates.

If the necessary action is not taken up against the Principal then MIYC will be forced to view the Medical Department (Health Services) as a patron of corruption, said the secretary.

Elucidating on the charge, the secretary said birth certificate of Lienkim states he was born on January one, 1950 but admission record available at the School of Nursing Satribari Christian Hospital, Guwahati indicates that Lienkim has reached eighteen years by March 19 of 1960 which is inappropriate.

Guidelines under Indian Nursing Council clearly envisage that persons less than 17 years are not allowed admission for nursing courses, the secretary asserted.

According to document of HSLC issued in 1967 Lienkim's age is stated as 17 years and two months whereas he has completed 18 years in March, 1960 during registration for the three year course in Assam Nurse Midwives & Health Visitors Council, highlighted the secretary.

He further asserted that despite State Vigilance Commission directive to Health Services Director on October 18, 2000 for detailed report regarding appointment of Lienkim as Senior Tutor in 1977 and principal of the Churachandpur institute in 1986 State Government still remains silent.

According to available records Lienkim's age has completed 61 years therefore continuance as principal unacceptable, said the MIYC secretary.

The MIYC secretary also took serious note of discrimination exercised by the State Government where nursing students of private institutes are barred from clinical practice at Govt hospitals.
