Imphal, June 27: In the aftermath of the bomb attack launched by a PREPAK group at Ningthoukhong yesterday when shopkeepers of the area were staging a protest sitting against monetary demand served to them by the same group, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister today.

Altogether 10 people sustained injuries in the attack.

On the other hand Ningthoukhong bazar resembled a ghost town today with the markets and shops remaining closed for the day.

Before handing over the memorandum, a large number of people from Ningthoukhong including JAC members who came in buses and vans were blocked by police in front of Kwakeithel police outpost.

Later some representatives were allowed to proceed towards the Chief Minister's office.

The JAC's memorandum contained four resolutions adopted during the public meeting held yesterday.

The memorandum asked the Govt to punish the perpetrators of yesterday's bomb attack at the earliest.

Other points of the memorandum included special attention to the injured victims and putting in place special measures to ward off such activities in future.

It further cautioned that strong protest movements will be launched in case the demands are not fulfilled by June 28 .
