Imphal, February 13: One youth was shot dead by some unidentified persons at the paddy fields located in between Kameng and Mana Ingkhol, about 4 kms North West of Lamsang police station at about 8 pm of February 11 .

The corpse was retrieved by Lamsang police today and the same has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.

The unidentified deceased was found hit by a bullet in the left cheek.

The word 'Gokin' was also found inscribed on his left wrist in Hindi.

He wore jean pants and a blue coloured jacket above a jogging shirt.

A bag containing women's clothes was also discovered beside the corpse.

Three writing pads with a list of telephone numbers were also found inside the bag.

One identified : Of the three youths shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Sanshenlok in Sinam Kom under Heingang police station yesterday, the identity of one has been established as Yumnam Chan alias Apan (30) s/o late Bishma of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai.

About three years back he was lodged in Sajiwa Jail for being a cadre of the proscribed KCP.

He came back home about a month back.

Although he was a married man, his wife had married another man.

It is further reported that the other two deceased might be Thoi and Saphaba.

ZSU decries : The Zeliangrong Students' Union, Tousem Area, has decried the alleged failure of the State Government to implement the MoU signed between the Chief Secretary, Works Commissioner and the student body in May last year in connection with abutment (heightened by 6 ft) of Makru bridge, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

The student body alleged that even though heightening the bridge was supposed to be completed by March this year, there has been no sign of work being started till date.

The student body has threatened to launch agitation if the MoU is not honoured in letter and spirit.
